Thank You

Dinner was delicious last night. Thank you to all of the chefs! And, a huge thank you to all of our pilots and students. We couldn’t be here without you.

Don’t forget potluck Thanksgiving Dinner this Thursday at 5pm in the LZ. Dinner is open to flight park members, students, and their friends and family. Bring a covered dish. And, we are closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week.

Pilots And My View

Feeling pretty lucky today with the view out of my office window.
We’ve had a very flyable autumn. Even when the forecast doesn’t look so promising, it turns out to be flyable. Today, for example, southerly winds forecasted, but the clear skies allow the valley to heat up and it blows in during the late morning and mid afternoons. This weekend’s forecast looks to be much the same. A light southerly wind forecast could turn into a beautiful weekend. We’re also had some more new pilots. Some photos of two of them…

This Weekend and upcoming events…including Holiday Bazaar

It has been a beautiful autumn! Right now I’m watching people playing on the ridge. The sky is clear and the leaves are still changing! We do have some upcoming events (besides the awesome flying weather) you should put on your calendar:

Saturday November 13, Mexican Food, Keg and Karoake at the LZ Clubhouse at 7pm
Thursday November 25, Thanksgiving potluck dinner at the LZ Clubhouse. There is a sign up sheet at the pro shop. Let us know what you’re bringing.
Saturday November 27, Thanksgiving leftovers at the LZ Clubhouse.

It today’s age of rapid fire information, Halloween must seem like it happened eons ago…it didn’t. It was less than a week ago in fact (Okay, the party was a week ago). The whole weekend turned out to be awesome. The forecast was for southerly winds all weekend, but you just never know what you’re going to get. It turned out to be launchable off of the mountain all weekend. Clear skies and soarable conditions. We were joined by pilots visiting from Texas, Chicago, Wisconsin, and New York. We shared a weekend of beautiful fall flying and Halloween revelry.
